The Prophet ﷺ said to Kaab bin Ujra, "May Allah protect you from the rule of the foolish."Kaab asked, "What is the rule of the foolish?"He replied, "Rulers who will come after me who do not follow my guidance and do not adhere to my way. Whoever affirms their lies and supports them in their oppression, such people are not from me, nor am I from them, and they will not come to me at my Pool. But whoever does not affirm their lies and does not support them in their oppression, such people are from me, and I am from them, and they will come to me at my Pool.Kaab bin Ujra, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin, and prayer is an offering," or he said, "a proof.Kaab bin Ujra, no flesh that has grown from unlawful earnings will enter Paradise. The Fire has more right to it.Kaab bin Ujra, people set out in two ways. One sells himself and ransoms his soul, while the other sells himself and destroys it."
Imam Ahmad (14441) narrated it from Abdul-Razzaq, and it is also in his Musannaf (20719). Ibn Hibban transmitted it through his route in his Sahih (4514), as did Hakim (4/422), from Muammar, from Ibn Khuthaym, from Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit, from Jabir, and he related it as mentioned. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Khuthaym, who is Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym (with the diminutive form), the Makkan Quran reciter, and he is hasan al-hadith. Abu Yaala (1999) also narrated it through his route, as did Bazzar in Kashf Astar (1609).Hakim said, "Its chain is sahih." But he does not distinguish between hasan and sahih.
