The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were nine in number, five and four, one group from the Arabs and the other from the non-Arabs. He said, "Listen, have you heard that there will be rulers after me? Whoever enters upon them, affirms their lies, and assists them in their oppression is not from me, nor am I from him, and he will not come to me at the Pool. But whoever does not enter upon them, does not assist them in their oppression, and does not affirm their lies is from me, and I am from him, and he will come to me at the Pool."
خرج إلينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن تسعة خمسة وأربعة أحد العددين من العرب، والآخر من العجم فقال: اسمعوا هل سمعتم أنه سيكون بعدي أمراء، فمن دخل عليهم فصدقهم بكذبهم، وأعانهم على ظلمهم فليس مني ولست منه، وليس بوارد علي الحوض، ومن لم يدخل عليهم ولم يعنهم على ظلمهم ولم يصدقهم بكذبهم فهو مني وأنا منه، وهو وارد علي.
Tirmidhi (2259) narrated it from Harun bin Ishaq Hamdani, who said, Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab narrated to me, from Masaar, from Abu Husayn, from Shaybi, from Asim Adawi, from Kaab bin Ujra, who said, and then he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih, and Ibn Hibban (279) and Hakim (1/79) both graded it sahih, both from this same route.Tirmidhi said, "This is a sahih, gharib hadith. We do not know it from the hadith of Masaar except from this route. Harun said, Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab narrated to me, from Sufyan, from Abu Husayn, from Shaybi, from Asim Adawi, from Kaab bin Ujra, from the Prophet ﷺ, similarly. Harun said, and Muhammad narrated to me, from Sufyan, from Zubayd, from Ibrahim, not the one known as Nakhai, from Kaab bin Ujra, from the Prophet ﷺ, similar to the hadith of Masaar."I say, as for the hadith of Sufyan, Nasai (7/160) and Imam Ahmad (18126) both narrated it, from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed, from Sufyan, with his chain, similarly. Ibn Hibban (282, 283, 285) and Hakim (1/79) graded it sahih. The hadith has other sahih routes as well, among them what Ibn Abu Shayba narrated in his Musannaf (11/453), from Fadl bin Dukayn, from Sufyan, with his chain.
