Musab bin Saad bin Abu Waqqas reported,

Umm Saad swore that she would never speak to him again until he renounced his religion, and that she would neither eat nor drink.She said, "You claim that Allah has charged you to honor your parents. I am your mother, and I am commanding you to do this."Saad said, "She held out for three days, until she lost consciousness from exhaustion."Then a son of hers named Umara got up and gave her water to drink, and she began calling down curses upon Saad. So Allah revealed this verse in the Quran, "But if they press you to associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them", and in the same verse, "and keep company with them in this world in kindness" [Luqman 31:15].

سمع مصعب بن سعد بن أبي وقاص عن أبيه سعد بن أبي وقاص بشأن آيات من القرآن نزلت فيه.

فقال مصعب بن سعد بن أبي وقاص

حلفت أم سعد أن لا تكلمه أبدا حتى يكفر بدينه ولا تأكل ولا تشرب قالت: زعمت أن الله وصاك بوالديك، وأنا أمك، وأنا آمرك بهذا قال: مكثت ثلاثا حتى غشى عليها من الجهد. فقام ابن لها يقال لها عمارة. فسقاها. فجعلت تدعو على سعد. فأنزل الله عز وجل في القرآن هذه الآية: {وإن جهداك على أن تشرك بي ما ليس لك به علم فلا تطعهما} وفيها: {وصاحبهما في الدنيا معروفا} [لقمان: ١٥].
