The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I witnessed, along with my uncles, the Pact of the Perfumed Ones, and I would not wish to break it even in exchange for red camels."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: شهدت مع عمومتي حلف المطيبين، فما أحب أن لي حمر النعم، وأني أنكثه.
Ahmad (1676), Bukhari in Adab al-Mufrad (567), Ibn Hibban who graded it sahih (4373), and Hakim (2/219–220) all narrated it, all of them through the route of Ismail bin Ulaya, from Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq, from Zuhri, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mutim, from his father, from Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, who related it. Its chain is sahih.Regarding the meaning of "al-Mutayyibin," Ibn Hibban has a discussion in his Sahih, and Sindi likewise has a discussion in Musnad Ahmad, so refer to them. As for "Hilf al-Fudul," refer to the marginal notes of Ibn Hibban.
