We were with the Prophet ﷺ at Marr az-Zahran picking kabath berries, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Take the black ones among them."We said, "Messenger of Allah, it is as though you once tended sheep."He replied, "Yes, and was there ever a prophet who did not tend them?" or words to that effect.
كنا مع النبي ﷺ بمر الظهران ونحن نجني الكباث فقال النبي ﷺ: عليكم بالأسود منه قال: فقلنا: يا رسول الله كأنك رعيت الغنم. قال: نعم وهل من نبي إلا وقد رعاها أو نحو هذا من القول.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (2050) from Abu Tahir, who said, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, from Yunus, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it.His saying "kabath" refers to the ripe fruit of the arak tree.
