I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, while in one of the streets of Madinah, "I am Muhammad, and I am Ahmad, the Gatherer, the Final One, and the Prophet of Mercy."
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول في سكة من سكك المدينة: أنا محمد، وأنا أحمد، والحاشر، والمقفى، ونبي الرحمة.
Tirmidhi narrated it in Shamail (361), Ibn Abu Shayba (32350), and Ahmad (23443), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6315), all of them via Asim bin Bahdala, from Zirr bin Hubaysh, from Huzaifa, who said, then he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Asim bin Bahdala bin Abu Najud, for his hadith is hasan.The meaning of "al-Muqaffi" is the one who follows after others and comes after them, meaning that he is the last of the prophets, peace be upon them.
