The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Messenger of Allah, tell us about yourself."He replied, "I am the answer to the prayer of my father Ibrahim and the glad tidings announced by Isa. When my mother was pregnant with me, she saw a light come forth from her that illuminated the palaces of Busra in the land of Sham."
Ibn Ishaq narrated it in Sirah, section (33), saying, "Thawr bin Yazid told me, from Khalid bin Madan," and he related it.Tabari transmitted it through this route in his Tafsir (2/573), as did Hakim (2/600) and Bayhaqi in Dalail (1/83), and Hakim graded it sahih. Its isnad is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, since he explicitly stated that he had been told directly. For the rest of the accounts about Isa , see the book of Iman.
