The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has promised me that seventy thousand of my nation will enter Paradise without reckoning."Yazid bin Akhnas al-Sulami said, "By Allah, those are no more in your nation than reddish-brown flies among ordinary flies!"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "My Lord has promised me seventy thousand, and with every thousand another seventy thousand, and He has granted me three additional handfuls."Yazid asked, "How vast is your pool, Prophet of Allah?"He said, "Like the distance between Aden and Amman, and wider still, and wider still," gesturing with his hand. "It has two spouts pouring into it, one of gold and one of silver."Yazid asked, "And what is your pool like, Prophet of Allah?"He said, "Its water is whiter than milk, sweeter in taste than honey, and more fragrant than musk. Whoever drinks from it will never thirst again, and his face will never be darkened."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن الله وعدني أن يدخل من أمتي الجنة سبعين ألفا بغير حساب. فقال يزيد بن الأخنس السلمي: والله ما أولئك في أمتك إلا كالذباب الأصهب في الذبان! فقال رسول الله ﷺ: فإن ربي قد وعدني سبعين ألفا، مع كل ألف سبعون ألفا، وزادني ثلاث حشيات. قال: فما سعة حوضك يا نبي الله؟ قال: كما بين عدن إلى عمان، وأوسع وأوسع يشير بيده. قال: فيه مثعبان من ذهب وفضة. قال: فما حوضك يا نبي الله؟ قال: ماء أشد بياضا من اللبن، وأحلى مذاقة من العسل، وأطيب رائحة من المسك من شرب منه لم يظمأ بعدها، ولم يسود وجهه أبدا.
Ahmad narrated it (22156), saying, Isam bin Khalid told us, Safwan bin Amr told me, from Salim bin Amir Khabairi and Abu Yaman Hawzani, from Abu Umama, and he related it.Its isnad is hasan. Abu Yaman Hawzani is Amir bin Abdullah bin Lahi (with the "Lahi" pronounced in diminutive form). Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his reliable narrators, and this is why Hafiz said of him, "Acceptable," meaning when corroborated, and he has indeed been corroborated as you see. Salim bin Amir Khabairi is reliable, one of the men of Muslim.From this same route, Tabarani also recorded it in Al-Kabir (7672), and Ibn Abu Asim in Al-Sunnah (729), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6457, 7246).As for the statement of Abdullah bin Imam Ahmad, following the hadith of Abu Umama, "I found this hadith in my father's book in his own handwriting, and it had been struck through. I supposed he struck it through because it was a mistake, and that it should actually be, from Zayd, from Abu Salam, from Abu Umama," this is problematic, because its isnad is sahih, indeed more sahih than the hadith of Zayd, from Abu Salam, from Abu Umama, if the Imam did in fact mean it as his son Abdullah supposed, because that chain contains Musab bin Salam Tamimi Kufi, who is daif.Through this route Tabarani recorded it (8/140), from him, from Abdullah bin Ala bin Zayd, from Abu Salam Aswad, from Abu Umama Bahili, from the Prophet ﷺ, and this is its wording, "My basin is as wide as the distance between Adan and Amman. In it are drinking vessels as numerous as the stars of the sky. Whoever drinks from it will never thirst again after that. Among those from my nation who will come to it are those with disheveled hair and dirty clothes, who do not marry the pampered women of luxury, nor do they attend the doors, meaning the doors of rulers, those who give everything that is owed from them but are not given everything that is owed to them."Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/362), "Ahmad and Tabarani narrated it. The men of Ahmad's chain, and the men of some of Tabarani's chains, are the men of the sahih, except that in Tabarani's version he says, 'What is its drink?' He said, 'Its drink is whiter than milk, and sweeter in taste than honey.'"
