Tirmidhi (3368) narrated it, Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih and narrated it in his Kitab Tawhid (107), and from him Ibn Hibban narrated it in his Sahih (6167), and Hakim graded it sahih (1/64). All of them narrated it through various routes from Safwan bin Isa, from Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zubab, from Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, in a lengthy hadith found in the discussion of divine decree and predestination. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib." Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the standard of Muslim, for he relied on Harith bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zubab as evidence, and others besides Safwan have also narrated it from him, but I only included it from the hadith of Safwan because I found in it a higher chain."I say, its chain is hasan on account of the discussion surrounding Harith bin Abdul-Rahman, though he is hasan al-hadith. The problematic element only arises in the narration of Darawardi from him, as Abu Hatim stated.On this subject there is also a report from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "When Allah created Adam, he informed Adam of his descendants, and Adam began to see how some of them excelled over others." He said, "Then he saw a radiant light among the lowest of them," and he asked, "O Lord, who is this?" Allah said, "This is your son Ahmad, he is the First and he is the Last, and he is the first to intercede."This was narrated by Sarraj in his hadith collection (2628), and through his route Bayhaqi narrated it in Dalail (5/483), from Abu Ubaydullah Yahya bin Muhammad bin Sakan, who said, Habban bin Hilal narrated to us, who said, Mubarak bin Fadala narrated to us, who said, Ubaydullah bin Umar narrated to me, from Khubayb bin Abdul-Rahman, from Hafs bin Asim, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. In this chain is Mubarak bin Fadala, who is daif and a mudallis.On this subject there is also what has been reported from Ibn Abbas, who, when asked about that hour, said, "Allah created Adam after Asr on Friday, and He created him from clay taken from the whole earth, its red and its black, its good and its foul, and that is why among his children there are the black and the red, the good and the foul. So His angels prostrated to him and He settled him in His Paradise, but before that evening had passed he disobeyed Him, so He removed him from it."This, however, is mawquf. Abdul-Razzaq narrated it (5580, 5581) through various routes from Hasan bin Muslim bin Yannaq and Uthman bin Abu Sulayman, both of them from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it.
