I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "I will be your forerunner at the Pond."
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: أنا فرطكم على الحوض.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Raqaiq (6589), and Muslim in the Book of Fadail (2289), both from the hadith of Shubah, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, who said, I heard Jundab say (as mentioned above). As for his saying, "your forerunner," the scholars of language say that the faraṭ and the fariṭ is the one who goes ahead of those coming to draw water, so as to prepare for them the troughs, buckets, and other things needed for watering. So the meaning of "your forerunner at the pool" is that he goes ahead of you to it, preparing it for you.
