The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will go ahead of you to the Pond. Whoever comes to it will drink from it, and whoever drinks from it will never thirst again. People will come to me whom I recognize and who recognize me, then a barrier will be placed between me and them.I will say, 'They are from me.'It will be said, 'You do not know what they introduced after you.'So I will say, 'Away with them, away with them, those who changed after me.'"
Narrated by Muslim (2291), and Bukhari in Riqaq (6584), both via Numan bin Abu Ayyash, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, then he narrated it. Except that neither of them mentioned the first part of the hadith, but rather referred to the wording of the hadith of Sahl bin Saad mentioned earlier, and they added at the end, "Then I will say, they are from me..." the rest of the hadith.Ibn Abbas said, regarding "so away with them" [Mulk 67:11], that it means far away. It is said that "distant" [Hajj 22:31] means far, and "he removed him far" means he made him distant.
