The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My pond stretches a month's journey across, its sides equal in length, its cups as many as the stars of the sky. Its water is whiter than snow, sweeter than honey, and more fragrant than musk. Whoever drinks from it a single drink will never thirst again."
Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir (11/125), from Ibrahim bin Hashim Baghawi, who said, Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab Harithi told us, who said, Abdullah bin Ubayd bin Umayr told us, from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/366–367), "Its narrators are the narrators of sahih, except Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab Harithi, who is trustworthy."I say, it is hasan on the strength of what precedes it, for otherwise I have not come across a biography of Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhab. Ibn Hibban only mentioned him in Al-Thiqat (9/83), so it appears he alone vouched for his trustworthiness, and Haythami relied on that. Allah, the Most High, knows best.Among the important benefits, Qurtubi, may Allah the Most High have mercy on him, said, "His saying ﷺ, 'My basin extends a month's journey, its corners are equal,' means its sides are balanced, that is, the distances between the corners are equal, so it is symmetrically square. The expressions indicating the size of the basin have varied, as is shown in the narrations mentioned in the original. Some deficient thinkers have supposed that this constitutes contradiction, but it is not so. Rather, the Prophet ﷺ spoke about the hadith of the basin on numerous occasions, and mentioned in them these different expressions to indicate that this was an estimate, not a precise measurement, and all of them convey that it is vast and expansive, with widely separated sides and corners. Perhaps the reason he mentioned different directions in estimating the basin is that this was according to whoever was present who knew those directions, so he would address each group in terms of the direction they were familiar with. Allah knows best." Al-Mufhim (6/91–92)
