While we were in the mosque, the Prophet ﷺ came out and said, "Let us go to the Jews."So we set out and came to Bayt al-Midras. He said, "Embrace Islam and you will be safe. Know that the land belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and I intend to expel you from this land. Whoever among you owns property, let him sell it. Otherwise, know that the land belongs to Allah and His Messenger."
بينما نحن في المسجد خرج النبي ﷺ فقال: انطلقوا إلى يهود، فخرجنا حتى جئنا بيت المدراس، فقال: أسلموا تسلموا، واعلموا أن الأرض الله ورسوله، وإني أريد أن أجليكم من هذه الأرض، فمن يجد منكم بماله شيئا فليبعه، وإلا فاعلموا أن الأرض لله ورسوله.
Bukhari narrated it in jizya (3167), and Muslim in jihad and expeditions (1765:61), both of them through the route of Layth, who said, Saeed Maqburi told me, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's.
