Anas bin Malik reported,

Wealth was brought to the Prophet ﷺ from Bahrain, so he said, "Scatter it in the mosque." It was the largest amount of wealth ever brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then went out to pray and paid no attention to it. When he finished the prayer, he came and sat beside it, and he gave to everyone he saw. Then Abbas came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, give me, for I paid a ransom for myself and a ransom for Aqeel."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Take."So Abbas scooped some into his garment, then tried to lift it but could not. He said, "Messenger of Allah, order someone to help me lift it."He said, "No."Abbas said, "Then you lift it onto me."He said, "No."So he poured some out and tried again to lift it, but still could not. He said, "Messenger of Allah, order someone to help me lift it."He said, "No."Abbas said, "Then you lift it onto me."He said, "No."So he poured some more out, then hoisted it up and threw it onto his shoulder and set off. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept following him with his gaze, amazed at his greed, until he disappeared from our sight. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not rise from that spot until not a single dirham of it remained.
