We migrated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking the face of Allah, and our reward became due upon Allah. Some of us passed away without consuming any of their reward. Among them was Musab bin Umayr, who was killed on the day of Uhud. We could not find anything to shroud him in except a striped cloak. When we covered his head with it, his feet became exposed, and when we covered his feet, his head became exposed. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed us to cover his head with it and place idhkhir grass over his feet. And among us are those whose fruit has ripened, and they are now harvesting it.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Virtues (3914) from Musaddad, who said, "Yahya narrated to us, from Amash, who said, 'I heard Shaqiq bin Salama say, "Khabab narrated to us," ' " and he mentioned it.His saying "yahdibuha" comes from hadb, which means to pluck or gather.
