The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I entered Paradise, and there I came upon a river whose banks were lined with tents of pearl. I struck my hand into what was flowing in it, and behold, it was the most fragrant musk."I asked, "What is this, Jibreel?"He replied, "This is al-Kawthar, which Allah has granted you."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: دخلت الجنة، فإذا أنا بنهر حافتاه خيام اللؤلؤ، فضربت بيدي إلى ما يجري فيه الماء فإذا مسك أذفر. قلت: ما هذا يا جبريل؟ قال: هذا الكوثر الذي أعطاكه الله.
Imam Ahmad related it (12008) from Ibn Abu Adi, from Humayd, from Anas bin Malik, and he narrated it accordingly. Ibn Hibban also related it in his Sahih (6473), as did Hakim (1/79–80), both of them through the route of Humayd, who is Humayd bin Abu Humayd the Tall, with the same wording. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "It is sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), though they did not include it."
