The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given five things that no one before me was given. I was sent to both the Ahmar and the Aswad. The earth has been made for me a place of purification and a place of prayer. War booty has been made lawful for me, though it was not lawful for anyone before me. I have been granted victory through awe, so that the enemy is struck with terror at a month's distance from me. And I was told, 'Ask, and you shall be given,' so I reserved my prayer as intercession for my community, and it will reach you, Allah Most High willing, whoever among you did not associate anything with Allah."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أعطيت خمسا يعطهن أحد قبلي: بعثت إلى الأحمر والأسود، وجعلت لي الأرض طهورا ومسجدا، وأحلت لي الغنائم ولم تحل لأحد قبلي، ونصرت بالرعب فيرعب العدو وهو مني مسيرة شهر، وقيل لي: سل تعطه، واختبأت دعوتي شفاعة لأمتي، فهي نائلة منكم إن شاء الله تعالى من لم يشرك بالله شيئا.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (489) and Ahmad (21314, 21299, and this is his wording), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6462), and Hakim (2/424), through various routes from Sulayman Amash, from Mujahid, from Ubayd bin Umayr Laythi, from Abu Dharr, who related it. Abu Dawud confined himself to the statement, "The earth has been made for me a masjid and a means of purification." Its chain of transmission is sahih.Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith meeting the standard of the two sheikhs, though they did not transmit it in this exact sequence, they only transmitted scattered wordings from the hadith."Haythami said in Majma (8/259), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the sahih collections."There has been extensive disagreement over its chain of transmission, which Daraqutni set out at length in Ilal (6/256–258). He said, "What is preserved is the view of those who said, from Mujahid, from Ubayd bin Umayr, from Abu Dharr."
