She was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. She said, "I raced him on foot and beat him. Later, when I had put on weight, I raced him again and he beat me."He said, "This one makes up for that one."
أنها كانت مع النبي ﷺ في سفر. قالت: فسابقته، فسبقته على رجلي، فلما حملت اللحم سابقته فسبقني، فقال: هذه بتلك السبقة.
Reported by Abu Dawud (2578), Ibn Majah (1979), and Ahmad (24118), and Ibn Hibban (4691) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, who narrated it. The wording is that of Abu Dawud, who paired Abu Salama together with Urwa. Its chain of transmission is sahih.
