The Prophet ﷺ had a she-camel named al-Adba which could not be outpaced. Humayd said, "Or could hardly be outpaced." A bedouin came on a young camel and outpaced her, which weighed heavily on the Muslims until he noticed it. He said, "It is Allah's right that nothing of this world rises without His bringing it low."
كان للنبي ﷺ ناقة تسمى العضباء لا تسبق. قال حميد: أو لا تكاد تسبق، فجاء أعرأبي على قعود فسبقها فشق ذلك على المسلمين حتى عرفه فقال: حق على الله أن لا يرتفع شيء من الدنيا إلا وضعه.
Bukhari narrated it in Kitab al-Jihad wal-Siyar (2872) from Malik bin Ismail, who said, Zuhayr told us, from Humayd, from Anas, who said what has already been mentioned.Similar in meaning is what was reported from Abu Hurairah, who said, "Al-Qaswa never lost a race, but then a Bedouin came on a young camel and raced against it and beat it. This distressed the Muslims, so they said, 'Messenger of Allah, Adhba has been beaten.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'It is a right upon Allah that nothing is raised up in this world without being brought down.'"Daraqutni narrated it (4/302) through the route of Maen, who said, Malik told us, from Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, who said what has already been mentioned.More than one narrator reported it from Malik, from Zuhri, from Saeed, as a mursal report. Likewise, others besides Malik reported it from Zuhri in the same way.
