A man reported,
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Horses are of three kinds. A horse that a man tethers in the path of Allah 
, its price is a reward, riding it is a reward, lending it is a reward, and feeding it is a reward. A horse upon which a man competes and gambles, its price is a sin. And a horse kept for breeding, perhaps it will be a safeguard against poverty, if Allah the Exalted wills."

Sahihعن رجل من الأنصار
عن النبي ﷺ قال: الخيل ثلاثة: فرس يربطه الرجل في سبيل الله عز وجل، فثمنه أجره، وركوبه أجره، وعاريته أجره، وعلفه أجره، وفرس يغالق عليه الرجل، ويراهن، فثمنه وزر، وفرس للبطنة، فعسى أن يكون سدادا من الفقر إن شاء الله تعالى.
Ahmad (16645) narrated it from Muawiya bin Amr, who said, Zaida told us, Rukayn bin Rabi bin Umayla told us, from Abu Amr Shaybani, from a man from the Ansar, and he mentioned it, and its chain of transmission is sahih. Haythami said in Majma (5/260), "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih."As for what Ibn Majah (2791) narrated through the route of Ahmad bin Yazid bin Rawh Dari, from Muhammad bin Uqba the judge, from his father, from his grandfather, from Tamim Dari, who said, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever ties up a horse in the cause of Allah, then attends to feeding it with his own hand, will have a good deed for every grain," this is not sound.Busiri said in Misbah Zujaja, "This chain of transmission is daif. Muhammad, his father Uqba, and his grandfather are unknown, and the grandfather is not named."I say, it also contains Ahmad bin Yazid Dari, in whose biography no more than one narrator from him is mentioned, and no one has affirmed his reliability. That is why Hafiz said in Taqrib, "Obscure."
