Mutarrif bin Abdullah reported,
My father said, "I went with the delegation of Banu Amir to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we said to him, 'You are our master.'He replied, 'The Master is Allah 
.'We said, 'And the most virtuous among us, and the greatest in bounty.'He said, 'Say what you have to say, or some of it, but do not let Satan carry you away.'"

Sahihعن مطرف بن عبد الله بن الشخير، قال
قال أبي: انطلقت في وفد بني عامر إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فقلنا: أنت سيدنا، فقال: السيد الله تبارك وتعالى. قلنا: وأفضلنا، فضلا، وأعظمنا طولا. فقال: قولوا بقولكم أو بعض قولكم، ولا يستجرنكم الشيطان.
Abu Dawud (4806) narrated it from Musaddad, who said, "Bishr, meaning Ibn Mufaddal, told us, Abu Salama Saeed bin Yazid told us, from Abu Nadra, from Mutarrif," and he mentioned it.Imam Ahmad (16311) and Bayhaqi in Al-Madkhal (537) both narrated it through the route of Mahdi bin Maymun, who said, "Ghaylan bin Jareer told us, from Mutarrif bin Abdullah bin Shikhir, from his father," and he added in it, "and the shining bowl," and said at its end, "and let it not tempt you away."As for his statement, "the shining bowl," Ibn Athir said in Al-Nihaya, "The Arabs used to call the generous host who fed people jafnah (bowl), because he would set it down and feed people from it, so he was named after it. And gharra means white, meaning that it was filled with fat and grease."As for his statement, "yastajrinnakum" with the letter ra doubled, from the root meaning "to draw" or "to pull." Sindi said it is sahih.
