The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of the Confederates, "Who will bring me news of the enemy?"Zubayr replied, "I will."The Prophet ﷺ asked again, "Who will bring me news of the enemy?"Zubayr replied, "I will."The Prophet ﷺ then said, "Every prophet has a disciple, and my disciple is Zubayr."
قال النبي ﷺ: من يأتيني بخبر القوم يوم الأحزاب؟ قال الزبير: أنا. ثم قال: من يأتيني بخبر القوم؟ قال الزبير: أنا. فقال النبي ﷺ: إن لكل نبي حواريا، وحواري الزبير.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Jihad (2846), and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2415:48), both from Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who mentioned it.
