Sahl bin Saad reported,

I saw Marwan bin Hakam sitting in the masjid, so I came over and sat down beside him, and he told us that Zayd bin Thabit had informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ dictated to him the verse "Not equal are those believers who sit at home" "and those who strive in the way of Allah" [Nisa 4:95].Zayd said, "While he was dictating it to me, Ibn Umm Maktum came to him and said, 'Messenger of Allah, if I were able to take part in jihad, I would fight.' He was a blind man. Then Allah sent down revelation upon His Messenger ﷺ, and his thigh was resting on my thigh. It grew so heavy on me that I feared it would crush my thigh. Then the state passed from him, and Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed the words "except those who have a disability" [Nisa 4:95]."

عن سهل بن سعد الساعدي أنه قال

رأيت مروان بن الحكم جالسا في المسجد، فأقبلت حتى جلست إلى جنبه، فأخبرنا أن زيد بن ثابت أخبره: أن رسول الله ﷺ أملى عليه {لا يستوي القعدون من المؤمنين} {والجهدون في سبيل الله}. قال: فجاءه ابن أم مكتوم وهو يملهاعلي، فقال: يا رسول الله، لو أستطيع الجهاد لجاهدت، وكان رجلاأعمى، فأنزل الله تبارك وتعالى على رسوله ﷺ، وفخذه على فخذي، فثقلت علي حتى خفت أن ترض فخذي، ثم سري عنه، فأنزل الله عزوجل {غير أولي الضرر}.
