Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (3/200) from Muhammad bin Abdullah Hadrami, who said, Hasan bin Ali Hulwani told us, Abu Asim told us, from Mahdi bin Maymun, from Uthman bin Ubayd, from Abu Tufayl, from Huzaifa bin Usayd, and he mentioned it. Haythami cited it in Al-Majmu (173/7) and said, "Tabarani and Bazzar (2805) related it, and the men of Tabarani's chain are trustworthy." Bazzar erred by making it part of the musnad of Huzaifa bin Yaman.I say, its chain is hasan because of Uthman bin Ubayd Rasibi. Mahdi bin Maymun and Hammad bin Zayd related from him, as Ibn Hibban mentioned in his Thiqat (159/5), Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy, and Abu Hatim said, "His affair is sound."Imam Ahmad related it (23795) from Yunus bin Muhammad, who said, Hammad bin Zayd told us, Uthman bin Ubayd Rasibi told us, he said, I heard Abu Tufayl say, the Messenger of Allah said ﷺ (and he mentioned the same), except that he did not mention in it "prophethood has ended." He also expressed doubt about the word "vision," saying, "the good vision, or he said, the righteous vision."Abu Tufayl is well known by his kunya, and his name is Amir bin Wathila. He was among the youngest of the companions. It has been reported from him that he said, "I witnessed eight years of the Prophet's life." So it appears that he did not hear this hadith from the Prophet ﷺ directly, for had he heard it from him, he would not have related it from Huzaifa bin Usayd.Bukhari also cited it in Tarikh al-Kabir (241/6) from Musa bin Ismail, from Mahdi bin Maymun, from Uthman bin Ubayd, from Abu Tufayl, who said, "It reached me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and he mentioned the same.
