The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I tell you who has the best station among people?"We said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "A man holding the reins of his horse in the path of Allah until he dies or is killed. And shall I tell you who comes next?"We said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "A man who withdraws to a mountain pass, establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, and keeping away from the evils of people. And shall I tell you who is the worst of people?"We said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "The one who is asked in the name of Allah
but does not give."
Nasai (2569) narrated it from Muhammad bin Rafi, who said, Ibn Abu Fudayk narrated to us, saying, Ibn Abu Dhib informed us, from Saeed bin Khalid Qaridhi, from Ismail bin Abdul-Rahman, from Ata bin Yasar, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it.This chain is hasan due to the discussion surrounding Saeed bin Khalid Qaridhi. Nasai declared him daif, while others considered him acceptable, so his hadith is hasan. A detailed discussion of him was given earlier in the book on zakat, in the chapter on one who asks by Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and is not given anything.
