The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the one who strives in the path of Allah is like that of a person constantly fasting and standing in prayer, never tiring of prayer or fasting, until he returns."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: مثل المجاهد في سبيل الله كمثل الصائم القائم الدائم الذي لا يفتر من صلاة ولا صيام حتى يرجع.
Malik narrated it in the Jihad (1) chapter from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned. Muslim narrated it in the Command (1878:110) chapter through another route from Abu Hurairah, as previously mentioned.
