I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a group from Mazina, and we pledged allegiance to him while the buttons of his shirt were undone. So I pledged allegiance to him, then I slipped my hand inside the opening of his shirt and touched the Seal of Prophethood.Urwa said, "I never saw Muawiya bin Qurra bin Mura, nor his son, except with their shirt buttons undone, whether in winter or in heat. They never fastened their buttons at all."
Reported by Abu Dawud (4082), Ibn Majah (3578), and Tirmidhi in Shamail (57), all through the route of Zuhayr, who said, Urwa bin Abdullah bin Qushayr Abu Muhil Jufi told us, he said, Muawiya bin Qurra told me from his father (meaning Qurra bin Iyas), who said, (and he mentioned something similar). Ahmad (15581) also reported it through this same route, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (5452). Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Urwa bin Abdullah bin Qushayr, from whom Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah both narrated, and whom Abu Zura, Ibn Hibban, and others deemed reliable.Ahmad (15582) also reported it from Rawh, who said, Qurra bin Khalid told us, he said, I heard Muawiya bin Qurra narrating from his father, who said, I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked his permission to put my hand inside the opening of his garment, and he was praying for me, and nothing prevented him from letting me touch him while he prayed for me. He said, "I found on the top of his shoulder something like a small lump." Its chain of transmission is sahih. His words "the top of his shoulder" mean the upper part of his shoulder.
