His mother, who had prayed toward both qiblahs with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah forbid that dates and Zabib be soaked together to make nabidh, and he said, 'Soak each of them on its own.'"
عن أمه- وكانت قد صلت القبلتين مع رسول الله ﷺ- قالت: سمعت رسول الله ينهى أن ينتبذ التمر والزبيب جميعا، وقال: انتبذ كل واحد منها وحده.
Ahmad (23932), Humaydi (356), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (25/147) all narrated it through the route of Muhammad bin Ishaq, who said, "Mabad bin Kaab reported to us," and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Ishaq, and even though he was known to conceal his sources, he explicitly stated that he was reporting directly in the version of Humaydi.
