I knew that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was fasting, so I waited for the time of his breaking the fast and prepared a date drink for him in a gourd, then brought it to him. It was already bubbling, so he said, "Throw this against the wall, for this is the drink of one who does not believe in Allah and the Last Day."
Reported by Abu Dawud (3716), Nasai (5610), and Ibn Majah (3409), all of them from the hadith of Zayd bin Waqid, from Khalid bin Abdullah bin Husayn, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Its isnad is hasan because of Khalid bin Abdullah bin Husayn, who is the Qurashi, the Umawi, the Dimashqi. He narrated from a group of people, and Bukhari confirmed as sahih that he heard from Abu Hurairah. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat (4/204). Abu Dawud said, "He was the most intelligent person of his time."It was also narrated from Abu Musa Ashari in similar fashion, reported by Abu Yaala (7259) and Bazzar (2907, in Kashf Astar), but its isnad contains confusion and unidentified narrators. Daraqutni criticized it for this in his Ilal (1316). It also contains Muhammad bin Abu Musa, who is of unknown reliability.
