The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade making nabidh in earthenware jars.
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن الجر أن ينبذ فيه.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (1996:43) via Sulayman Taymi, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, who said, then he related it.Ahmad narrated it (11633) from Yazid, who said, Hisham informed us, from Muhammad, from Abu Alaniyah, who said, I asked Abu Saeed Khudri about the nabidh of the jar, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this jar." He said, I said, "What about the jaff?" He said, "That is worse and more evil."Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Alaniyah is Marii Basri, whose name is Muslim. Abu Dawud and Bazzar affirmed his reliability. Muhammad is Ibn Sirin, Hisham is Ibn Hassan Qurdusi, and Yazid is Ibn Harun.
