The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of gourds, green jars, vessels coated with pitch, and hollowed-out tree trunks as containers.
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الدباء والحنتم والمزفت والنقير.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (1995: 40) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Ali bin Mushir told us, from Shaybani, from Habib, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said, and then he mentioned it.
