I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Every intoxicant is forbidden. Whatever amount of it, when a faraq is consumed, would intoxicate, then even a handful of it is forbidden."In another wording, "Even a sip of it is forbidden."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: كل مسكر حرام، وما أسكر منه الفرق فملء الكف منه حرام. وفي لفظ: الحسوة منه حرام.
Reported by Abu Dawud (3687), Tirmidhi (1866), and Ahmad (24423), all of them through Abu Uthman Ansari, who said, Qasim bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr told me that Ayesha said, then he related it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Abu Uthman Ansari, whose name is disputed. Some said he was Amr bin Salim, and others said otherwise. Abu Dawud considered him reliable, Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, and Rabee bin Sabih praised him, as is found in Ahmad's chain of transmission. A narrator of this standing would not have his hadith fall below the level of hasan. Tirmidhi indeed graded it hasan.
