The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ captured me when I was a young man, and I heard him ﷺ forbidding plunder. He also ordered that the cooking pots be overturned, so they were emptied of the meat of domestic donkeys.
أسرني أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ وأنا يومئذ شاب، فسمعته ﷺ ينهى عن النهبة، وأمر بالقدور، فأكفئت من لحم الحمر الأهلية.

Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir (1375), and Abu Naeem in Marifat al-Sahaba (1382), via the route of Shubah, from Simak bin Harb, from Thalaba bin Hakam, who related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Simak bin Harb. Haythami said in Al-Majma (5/49), "Tabarani narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy."
