We went on seven or six military expeditions with the Prophet ﷺ, during which we used to eat Jarad with him.In another narration, it states "seven expeditions" with certainty.
غزونا مع النبي ﷺ سبع غزوات أو ستا، كنا نأكل معه الجراد. وفي رواية: سبع غزوات بالجزم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Slaughtered Animals and Game (5495), and Muslim in the Book of Game and Slaughtered Animals (1952), both through Shubah, from Abu Yafur, who said, "I heard Ibn Abu Awfa," and then he mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's. In Sahih Muslim it reads, "seven expeditions," meaning without doubt.
