During the time of Khaybar, we ate horses and wild donkeys, but the Prophet ﷺ forbade us from eating domestic donkeys.
أكلنا زمن خيبر الخيل وحمر الوحش، ونهانا النبي ﷺ عن الحمار الأهلي.
Muslim narrated it (1941:37) via Ibn Jurayj, who said, "Abu Zubayr told me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say," and he mentioned it.
