Anas bin Malik reported,

We startled a rabbit while we were at Marr az-Zahran. The people chased after it until they grew exhausted, then I caught it and brought it to Abu Talha. He slaughtered it and sent its hindquarters, or he said its thighs, to the Prophet ﷺ, who accepted it.Wazad added in another narration, I asked, "Did he eat from it?" He replied, "Yes, he ate from it."
