Urwa bin Zubayr and Fatimah bint Munzir bin Zubayr reported,

Asma bint Abu Bakr set out when she emigrated while she was pregnant with Abdullah bin Zubayr. She arrived at Quba and gave birth to Abdullah there. After giving birth, she went out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that he might perform the tahnik for the child. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the baby from her, placed him in his lap, and called for a date.Ayesha said, "We spent some time searching for it before we found it." He chewed the date and then placed it into the baby's mouth, so the very first thing to enter his stomach was the saliva of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Asma then said, "He then wiped him, prayed for him, and named him Abdullah. Later, when he was seven or eight years old, he came to pledge allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, having been instructed to do so by Zubayr. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled when he saw him approaching, and then accepted his pledge."
