The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever prays our prayer, faces our qiblah, and performs our rites of sacrifice should not slaughter until he has prayed."My maternal uncle said, "Messenger of Allah, I have already sacrificed on behalf of a son of mine."He replied, "That was something you hastened for your family."My uncle said, "I have a sheep that is better than two sheep."He said, "Sacrifice it, for it is the best offering."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من صلى صلاتنا، ووجه قبلتنا، ونسك نسكنا، فلا يذبح حتى يصلي. فقال خالي: يا رسول الله قد نسكت عن ابن لي فقال: ذاك شيء عجلته لأهلك فقال: إن عندي شاة خير من شاتين قال: ضح بها فإنها خير نسيكة.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on sacrifices (5563) via Abu Awana, and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on sacrifices (6:1960) via Zakariya, both of them from Firas, from Amir Shaybi, from Bara, who mentioned it, and the wording given here is Muslim's.
