The Prophet ﷺ came in to her while she was weeping, for she had begun her menstrual period at Sarif before entering Mecca.He asked, "What is the matter with you? Have you started your menses?"She replied, "Yes."He said, "This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. So perform all the rites that the pilgrim performs, except that you must not circumambulate the House."When we were at Mina, beef was brought to me, and I asked, "What is this?"They replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sacrificed a cow on behalf of his wives."In another narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered cows as sacrifice on behalf of his wives.
أن النبي ﷺ دخل عليها وحاضت بسرف قبل أن تدخل مكة-وهي تبكي- فقال: ما لك أنفست؟ قالت: نعم قال: إن هذا أمر كتبه الله على بنات آدم، فاقضي ما يقضي الحاج، غير أن لا تطوفي بالبيت فلما كنا بمنى أتيت بلحم بقر فقلت: ما هذا؟ قالوا: ضحى رسول الله ﷺ عن أزواجه بالبقر. وفي رواية: أهدى رسول الله ﷺ على نسائه البقر.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sacrifices (5548), and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (119:1211), both through Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, from Ayesha, who related it.The other narration in Muslim (120:1211) is through Abdul-Aziz bin Abu Salama Majishun, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, with the same account.
