Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "A vow does not bring to the son of Adam anything that has not already been decreed for him, but the vow drives him toward what has been decreed. Through it, Allah extracts from the miser, so he gives up what he would not have given up before."In another narration, "A vow does not bring to the son of Adam anything that Allah has not decreed for him, but the vow coincides with the decree, and through it something is extracted from the miser that the miser had no intention of parting with."

عن أبي هريرة قال

قال النبي ﷺ: لا يأتي ابن آدم النذر بشيء لم يكن قدر له، ولكن يلقيه النذر إلى القدر قد قدر له، فيستخرج الله به من البخيل، فيؤتي عليه ما لم يكن يؤتي عليه من قبل وفي رواية: إن النذر لا يقرب من ابن آدم شيئا لم يكن الله قدره له، ولكن النذر يوافق القدر، فيخرج بذلك من البخيل ما لم يكن البخيل يريد أن يخرج.
