A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I vowed that I would beat the tambourine over your head."He said, "Then fulfill your vow."She said, "I also vowed to slaughter at such-and-such a place," a place where the people of the pre-Islamic era used to slaughter. He asked, "For an idol?"She replied, "No."He asked, "For a statue?"She replied, "No."He said, "Then fulfill your vow."
Abu Dawud (3312) narrated it, and Bayhaqi (10/77) narrated it from him, from Musaddad, who said, Harith bin Ubayd Abu Qudama narrated to us, from Ubaydullah bin Akhnas, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan. There is disagreement regarding Ubaydullah bin Akhnas, but the correct view is that he is trustworthy. Ahmad, Ibn Main, Nasai, and others deemed him trustworthy, while others criticized him without evidence.
