I bear witness that I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "There is no servant, man or woman, who swears a sinful oath at this pulpit, even over a fresh tooth-stick, except that the Fire becomes obligatory for him."
أشهد لسمعت النبي ﷺ قال: ما من عبد أو أمة، يحلف عند هذا المنبر على يمين آثمة، ولو على سواك رطب، إلا وجبت له النار.
Ibn Majah (2326) and Ahmad (8362) narrated it, and Hakim (4/297) graded it sahih, all of them from the hadith of Abu Asim Dahhak bin Makhlad, who said, "Hasan bin Yazid bin Faruq narrated to us," who said, "I heard Abu Salama say, 'I heard Abu Hurairah say...'" then he related the hadith. Its isnad is sahih.Hasan bin Yazid bin Faruq is Abu Yunus al-Qawi, as confirmed by Ibn Majah, and likewise Hakim stated this and graded his isnad sahih. He was called al-Qawi because of how much he worshipped, and there is consensus on his reliability. Ibn Majah alone, among the compilers of the Six Books, transmitted from him.Among those named Hasan bin Yazid there are four others besides the one mentioned, most of whom are unknown.
