The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which people are the best?"He replied, "My generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come a people whose testimony will race ahead of their oath, and their oath ahead of their testimony."Ibrahim said, "Our elders used to forbid us, when we were young boys, from swearing by testimony or by covenant."
Bukhari narrated it in "Oaths and Vows" (6658), and Muslim narrated it in "The Virtues of the Companions" (2533:211), both of them via Mansur, from Ibrahim, from Ubayda, from Abdullah, and he related it.
