Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hudud (1692) from Abu Kamil Fudayl bin Husayn Jahdari, who said, Abu Awana narrated to us, from Simak bin Harb, from Jabir bin Samura, and he mentioned it. His words, "muscular," mean of firm, powerful build.Shuba also narrated it from Simak bin Harb, and in his version, a short, disheveled, muscular man wearing a waist-wrap was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, having committed adultery. The Prophet turned him away twice, then ordered that he be stoned, and he was stoned. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said something similar to what has already been mentioned.Muslim narrated it through several chains from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shuba narrated to us. He said, I then related it to Saeed bin Jubayr, and he said, "He turned him away four times."His words, "disheveled," mean one whose hair is disordered and matted from lack of care with oil.His words, "muscular," refer to the muscle, which is any firm, solid mass of flesh.His words, "the vile one," mean the most despicable, though it is also said that this is a euphemism used to refer to oneself or to another when reporting something shameful.In the version of Abu Dawud (4422), it reads, "Indeed, whenever we go forth in the path of Allah , one of them stays behind, bleating like the bleating of a billy-goat, giving one of the women a small portion of milk. But if Allah ever grants me power over any of them, I will surely make a harsh example of him because of them." Shuba said, I asked Simak about "the small portion," and he said, "It means a small amount of milk."
