Jabir bin Samura reported,

I saw Maez bin Malik when he was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. He was a short, muscular man without a cloak. He testified against himself four times that he had committed adultery. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perhaps you only..."He replied, "No, by Allah, the wretch has indeed committed adultery."So he ordered him to be stoned. Then he delivered a sermon and said, "Whenever we set out as warriors in the path of Allah, one of them stays behind making a sound like the bleating of a male goat, offering a small gift to one of the women. By Allah, if Allah gives me power over any such man, I will surely make an example of him."

Sahih
