I asked Ibn Abu Awfa, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ carry out stoning?"He replied, "Yes, on a Jewish man and a Jewish woman."I asked, "Was that after the revelation of Surah an-Nur or before it?"He answered, "I do not know."
قلت لابن أبي أوفى: رجم رسول الله ﷺ؟ قال: نعم يهوديا ويهودية قال: قلت: بعد نزول النور أو قبلها؟ قال: لا أدري
Ahmad (19126) and Ibn Hibban (4433) both reported it from the hadith of Hushaym bin Bashir, who said, Shaybani said, then he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih. Shaybani is Abu Ishaq Sulayman bin Abu Sulayman Kufi. Bukhari and Muslim also reported it, as will come later, through another route from Abu Ishaq Shaybani, but without mention of stoning the Jewish man and the Jewish woman.
