The Prophet ﷺ said, "When one of you strikes, let him avoid the face."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: إذا ضرب أحدكم فليتق الوجه.
Abu Dawud (4493) narrated it from Abu Kamil, who said, Abu Awana narrated to us, from Umar bin Abu Salama, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Umar bin Abu Salama, for there is disagreement about him, though he is hasan al-hadith.Ahmad (7323) narrated it from Sufyan, from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, adding in it, "For Allah created Adam in his image." Muslim (2612) alluded to Sufyan's narration from Abu Zinad with this same isnad, saying, "When one of you strikes." The basic wording of Abu Hurairah's hadith in the Sahihayn is, "When one of you fights his brother, let him avoid the face," and it has been documented in its proper place.
