The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that whoever is killed by accident, the blood-money is one hundred camels, thirty bint makhad, thirty bint labun, thirty hiqqah, and ten male ibn labun.
أن رسول الله ﷺ قضى أن من قتل خطأ فديته مائة من الإبل: ثلاثون بنت مخاض، وثلاثون بنت لبون، وثلاثون حقة، وعشر بنو لبون ذكر.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (4541), Ibn Majah (2630), and Daraqutni (3/95), and from his route Bayhaqi (8/74), all of them from the hadith of Yazid bin Harun, who said, Muhammad bin Rashid narrated to us, from Sulayman bin Musa, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, and he mentioned it, with the wording belonging to Abu Dawud. Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan, and Muhammad bin Rashid is the Damascene, the Makhuli, about whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan.Ibn Majah added, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to value it for the people of the villages at four hundred dinars, or its equivalent in silver, and he would value it according to the prices of camels. When prices rose, he raised its value, and when prices fell, he lowered its value, according to whatever the times required. So its value in the era of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached between four hundred dinars and eight hundred dinars, or its equivalent in silver, eight thousand dirhams.
