Reported by Abu Dawud (4560), Ahmad (2624), and Bayhaqi (8/90), all from the hadith of Ali bin Hasan bin Shaqiq, who said, "Abu Hamza informed us, who said, Yazid Nahwi related to us, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas," as mentioned. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Ibn Majah (2651) also reported it from Ismail bin Ibrahim Balisi, who said, "Ali bin Hasan bin Shaqiq related to us with his chain," and in it he said, "The Prophet ﷺ ruled that for a tooth there is five camels." Ismail bin Ibrahim is trustworthy, and its chain is also sahih, as Busiri stated.Malik reported in al-Uqul (29) from Dawud bin Husayn, from Abu Ghatfan bin Tarif Murri, that Marwan bin Hakam sent him to Abdullah bin Abbas to ask him what compensation is due for a molar. He said, five camels are due for it. He said, so Marwan sent me back to him, saying, "Do you make the front teeth equal to the molars?" Ibn Abbas replied, "If you had considered nothing but the fingers, their compensation is equal."Malik said, our position is that the front teeth, the molars, and the canines all carry equal compensation. This is because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For a tooth, five camels are due, and a molar is one of the teeth, no one tooth taking precedence over another." End of quote.
