Muslim narrated it in the book on manumission (1507), from Muhammad bin Rafi, from Abdul-Razzaq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Abu Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say... and so on as mentioned.Al-uqul means blood money payments, the singular being aql, like fals and fulus. Its meaning is that the blood money for accidental killing and quasi-accidental killing is owed by the aqilah, who are the paternal relatives, whether ascendants or descendants, no matter how far up or down the line they are, the sub-clan rather than the whole tribe, and the immediate kin group rather than the sub-clan.
