Sulayman and Qasim reported that they heard them mention that Yahya bin Saeed bin As had irrevocably divorced the daughter of Abdul-Rahman bin Hakam, and Abdul-Rahman bin Hakam moved her from her home.Ayesha, Umm Muiminin, sent word to Marwan bin Hakam, who was at that time the governor of Madinah, saying, "Fear Allah and return the woman to her home."Marwan replied, in Sulayman's version of the report, "Abdul-Rahman has overpowered me."In Qasim's version, Marwan said, "Has the case of Fatimah bint Qays not reached you?"Ayesha answered, "It will not harm you to leave aside the report of Fatimah."Marwan said, "If you see evil in this matter, then the evil that lies between these two is enough for you."
Malik narrated it in the Book of Divorce (36), from Yahya bin Saeed, from Qasim bin Muhammad, with this account.Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Divorce (5321-5322) through Malik, with this account, similarly. The meaning of his statement is, if Fatimah's departure was, as it is said, because of some sharpness in her tongue, then let what happened between Yahya bin Saeed bin Al-As and his wife be sufficient for you as an example of such trouble.
